The Old Norse knew the world was thin in places. They understood that to enter another realm, one did not simply walk. One had to find a threshold—a gateway hidden in plain sight. It might be a ring of ancient standing stones that hummed under a full moon, a cave mouth that exhaled the breath of winter, or a forest spring whose waters reflected stars that were not in the sky. These passages were rare, sacred, and not without their own guardians. Through my pact with the wild, I have found some of these gateways.
